Tokyo Game Show Trailer.
This is a post taking it apart from the Acepedia discussion boards:
Quote:OK, I watched the trailer and here's my analysis of it:
>Stonehenge Offensive soundtrack playing on the opening.
>00:42 TAC Name: Reapers?
>00:46-00:52 The F-4E Phantom and the C-17 Globemaster are confirmed.
>00:54 Canyon missions are back.
>01:04 "Lower your altittude!"
>Ridgebacks Squadron's members: Slash, Edge, Fencer, and Axeman.
>Bone Arrow Squadron's members: You, Omega, and Bronco.
>01:15-01:17 Stonehenge is now Turkish. Two new squadrons; Javelin and Rapier.
>01:42 Invincible Fleet mission?
>02:00 UAV MQ-90L/CFA-44 Drone
>The scene in the end reminds me of Silber Squadron.
>The leader is flying an F-22A. Mobius 1, is that you?
As far as multiplayer, we have so far had confirmed a 4v4 "Versus Co-Op" mode where two teams compete to get the most kills against NPCs. No word as of yet on adversarial multiplayer, but we're assuming that'll be in as well.
Also, for anyone who has played Ace Combat X or some of the other PSP titles, you'll be pleased to know that opposed to the unbalanced Skill systems in Assault Horizon, the Tuning system from the aforementioned games will be returning to allow you to customize the performance of your aircraft.
The trailer I linked follows after 3 teasers, which I'll link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ljDmBXWU2g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ccY4YERquk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjZn_gm5Wek - This one shows the currently confirmed multiplayer mode.
All in all, after the new info they gave us at TGS, I'm looking forward to this even more than before. |

But as long as its more like the classic installments i will be happy. Like Silas said, this is going back to their "Strangereal" world, and back to the classic mechanics. FAR away from Assault Horizon and all that CRA bullshit that took all the skill out of the game. |

Im glad they are adopting the old lore, but i think its not Strangereal exactly. They retconed it to earth. So from what i read it seemed like instead of having the strangereal geography like Yuktobania with the round table. The round table would be like in Russia or somethn. Yeah, it's a combination of their Strangereal storyline with real world elements. |

I powered through the campaign mode (such a lame story, btw) then turned it in towards the Shadow of the Colossus / ICO remake. It was the first and only time I turned in a game I had originally bought. =/ I've actually done quite a bit of multiplayer in AH due to having friends that play it as well.
I'm dropping it like a bad habit the moment Infinity comes out. |

any word on that... Disregard this thread.
Game uses a token system to "allow" you to play, so once you run out of "Sortie Fuel" you can't play the game until you wait for it to build back up over several hours, or pay them money.
Nothing to see here, boys. |

Silas Swakhammer wrote:The F2P model looks like a sweet deal to me. The campaign mode is completely free, and the multi-player is pay as I go. The model allows for new guys to easily join the Ace scene without sacrificing depth.
The beef I have is that they decided against a multi-player deathmatch mode. =/ How is being forced to pay for playing multiplayer for any reasonable amount of time a good thing? |
